Robert O'Neill has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Robert began their career in 2004 at PwC, where they worked as an Associate until 2006. Robert then joined Bury Council as an Economist for a brief period in 2011 before moving on to the Office for National Statistics as an Assistant Statistician from 2011 to 2013. From 2013 to 2020, they held various roles at the University of Huddersfield, including Senior Lecturer in Economics and Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Economics. In 2020, they joined The University of Manchester as a Lecturer with a teaching focus. Currently, they are working as a Principal Economist at the Information Commissioner's Office starting from March 2023.
Robert O'Neill obtained a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in Economics (Accounting) from The University of Manchester from 2001 to 2004. Robert then pursued a Master of Science degree in Economics and Econometrics at the same university from 2006 to 2007. Subsequently, they earned a PhD in Economics from The University of Manchester, where they studied from 2007 to 2011.
