Celia R. Perez

Celia Perez is a business-minded attorney who partners with the Leadership and Sales teams to capitalize on new opportunities and help drive growth for FreightCar America. She was appointed General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of FreightCar America in 2022 and brings extensive experience from her time working in private practice, for the federal government and at other manufacturing companies.

Prior to joining FreightCar America, Celia served in a variety of roles at Fortune Brands Home & Security, Inc., including as Division General Counsel of the Global Plumbing Group, a business division with over $2.5 billion in annual sales. While at Fortune Brands, she also oversaw global sourcing and real estate legal matters during the COVID-19 pandemic for all business divisions, accounting for over $7.7 billion in annual sales worldwide. Before joining Fortune Brands, Celia spent six years in private practice with a focus on mergers and acquisitions and complex commercial transactions in highly regulated industries.

Celia holds a BS from Northwestern University in Communication Studies, where she was a captain of the varsity women’s cross-country team for two years. She received her JD from the George Washington University Law School, while working for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of Energy.
