About the Role: Underwriting Support Specialist

As an Underwriting Support Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining efficient workflow within the Personal Lines Underwriting Department. You’ll provide administrative and research support while delivering outstanding customer service to agency partners, mortgage companies, and insureds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process simple to complex endorsements to existing policies.
  • Assist agency partners and insureds with accessing the insured/agency portal, troubleshooting issues, and submitting IT tickets as needed.
  • Establish effective relationships and provide exceptional customer service by answering basic policy, endorsement, and billing inquiries via phone, email, or in person.
  • Support the Personal Lines Underwriting Department with projects aimed at improving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage the linking of queues in Image Now to ensure endorsement work is routed correctly.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED required; undergraduate education preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience and/or training in P&C Insurance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications: Active 440, 2044, or 220 license required; an insurance-related designation or license for Property and Casualty Insurance is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong customer service and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
