Manager Of R&d Intelligence And Discovery at FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific

Shahram Shahabi has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Shahram currently serves as the R&D Manager for Cell and Gene Therapy at FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific since August 2021. Prior to this role, Shahram worked at Hyland's Naturals as the Director of Research from September 2017 to April 2021. In this position, they provided scientific leadership for drug discovery projects, performed target identification and validation, and developed new products and biomarkers using various cell culture and transcriptomics models.

Before joining Hyland's Naturals, Shahram worked at the Sina Allergy Center and Urmia University of Medical Sciences from October 2006 to September 2017. In these roles, they were a physician specializing in allergy diagnosis and treatment. Shahram established the first center for diagnosing and treating allergic and immunodeficient patients in the province. Additionally, Shahram conducted skin prick allergy tests and immuno-assays to diagnose allergies.

Starting from 1996, Shahram practiced medicine in the Public Health System and Private Clinic. Their responsibilities included providing medical care and performing public health-related tasks.

Moreover, Shahram has deep experience in academia. Shahram worked at Urmia University of Medical Sciences as a faculty member from October 2006 to September 2017. During this time, they held various positions, from Assistant Professor to Full Professor of Immunology. Shahram taught immunology courses, conducted research, and had notable achievements including the publication of patents. Shahram also served as the Vice President of Research Affairs at the School of Medicine from May 2008 to January 2017, where they developed long-term research strategies, managed clinical trials, and oversaw innovative studies for new products and assays.

Shahram Shahabi completed their education in a chronological manner. Shahram first attended Tehran University of Medical Sciences from 1989 to 1996, where they earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in the field of Medicine. After a gap, from 2001 to 2006, Shahram pursued their higher education at Tarbiat Modares University, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Medical Immunology. In 2005 to 2006, they also took a complementary course for their PhD degree in Advanced Methods of Cell Biology at the University of Bristol.

In terms of additional certifications, Shahram has achieved the status of a Board Certified Medical Affairs Specialist from the Accreditation Council for Medical Affairs (ACMA) in March 2023. Shahram is currently working towards obtaining the certification for GCP for Clinical Trials with Investigational Drugs and Medical Devices (U.S. FDA Focus) from the CITI Program, and also pursuing further education in Technology Entrepreneurship: Lab to Market through the edX-HarvardX LBTechX1 program. The specific months and years for the latter two certifications have not been provided.
