William Engelman

William Engelman, MD has extensive work experience in the field of patient safety and pharmacovigilance. William is currently working as the Director of Patient Safety/Pharmacovigilance at Fulcrum Therapeutics since February 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Associate Director of Patient Safety and Risk Management at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals from January 2018 to August 2020. William also worked as the Safety Analytics & Reporting Lead at Shire from July 2017 to January 2018 and as the Principal Safety Scientist at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals from June 2016 to July 2017.

Before joining the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Engelman worked as a Senior Pharmacovigilance Scientist at ARIAD Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from February 2015 to June 2016. William also gained experience as a Senior Clinical Scientist at Evidera from August 2009 to January 2015.

Dr. Engelman started their career in healthcare as a Pediatric Resident at the University of Massachusetts from July 2006 to October 2008. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Coordinator at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Heme/Onc Clinic from June 2001 to August 2002, where they collected data on investigational drugs for cancer treatments.

In the early stages of their career, Dr. Engelman also worked as a Research Coordinator at the VA Medical Center, Philadelphia from August 2000 to June 2001, where they gathered data for a research study on medical care provided to patients with myocardial infarction in the emergency department. William also served as an Engineer at URS Corporation from February 2000 to June 2001, primarily involved in designing structural supports and towers for wireless telecommunication equipment.

William Engelman, MD obtained their Medical Doctorate from Temple University - Lewis Katz School of Medicine, where they studied Medicine/Health Care from 2002 to 2006. Prior to that, they earned a Special Science Program Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania's College of General Studies, where they studied from 2000 to 2002. William'sundergraduate degree, a BS in Engineering, was earned at Michigan State University from 1990 to 1995.
