Our product delivers operational efficiency and insight to investment management professionals — family offices, fund administrators, and alternative fund managers.

Business Analyst will be responsible for working closely with FundCount’s clients, prospects, and, if required, internal functional areas to:

  • Work with our implementation and customer support teams, answer complex client questions and manage use cases testing various capabilities of FundCount.

  • Perform analysis and specification writing for investment accounting data mapping and migration processes.

  • Gather, analyze, and transform clients’ fund accounting & investment analysis feature requirements into system specifications.

  • Provide product support and training to functional teams such as Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Tech Writers, Implementation, Customer Service, Developers, and QA testing.

We need one Business Analyst in North America and one in the EMEA + APAC region. Both will work remotely with expected short business trips.

Our product

All portfolio and partnership accounting activity in FundCount is aggregated within one software system and flows through a single general ledger. Investment information is consolidated, accurate, and instantly available, providing insight and the foundation for in-depth analysis that drives decision-making.

Our clients are single and multi-family offices, fund administrators, private equity firms, and hedge funds.

Responsibilities

Core

  • Analyze clients’ investment accounting processes and systems, including those involving FundCount and surrounding applications. Transform this analysis into system-wide configuration instructions.
  • Solicit and document client business requirements — work collaboratively with clients and FundCount staff to provide consultative support regarding applications and business processes.
  • Provide hands-on product support and training to clients and FundCount internal teams.
  • Conduct necessary research, prepare business/functional requirements, and review functional designs and product documentation articles.
  • Work with technical and development staff to conduct user-acceptance testing, including preparing test data and user-acceptance testing documents.
  • Develop data mapping specifications for existing and new data import and export interfaces between FundCount and third-party investment management systems and services.

Additional

  • Work with Sales, convert prospect data, and set up use-case scenarios for proof of concept and demo exercises.

  • Lead demonstrations with business, support, and customer training groups for new and improved applications, communicate detailed descriptions of functionality changes and provide follow-up support as required.

  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams.

  • Present recommendations in a logical, concise, and influencing manner.

Critical Success Factors

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, mathematics, accounting, or finance.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in fund administration, family offices, or investment accounting & technology (fund accounting and administration systems).

  • Experience with research, requirements capture, and business analysis on IT projects for complex financial applications in the alternative fund industry.

  • Strong knowledge of a broad range of investment management products, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, hedge funds, private equity funds, and real estate funds, is highly desirable.

  • Strong MS Excel skills and familiarity with Jira or similar task/issue management systems.

  • Ability to learn new things quickly and work independently and as a project team member.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Willingness to travel within the region to conduct client training approximately 20% of the time.

Our offer

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • 100% remote work.
  • Competitive salary + bonuses.
  • Reporting to the Director of Implementations.
