Yvonne Chien

Yvonne Chien has an extensive work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Yvonne currently holds the position of Chief Growth Officer at FutureLearn since September 2021. Prior to this, Yvonne served as a Board Member at European Sperm Bank from 2021 to 2022.

Yvonne spent a significant part of their career at Abcam, where they held the role of SVP Customer Experience from 2015 to 2020. In this position, they were responsible for sales, e-commerce, marketing, and customer support worldwide. During their tenure, Abcam's revenue doubled, and the stock price tripled. Yvonne also served as Chief Digital Officer at Abcam from 2015 to 2016.

Before joining Abcam, Yvonne worked as an Advisor at Localgiving.com in 2014, where they provided strategic analysis and advice in areas such as marketing, website conversion, customer segmentation, and customer value analysis.

Yvonne also has experience at well-known companies such as Getty Images, where they served as SVP Marketing from 2010 to 2013, overseeing customer segmentation, marketing strategy, and digital marketing. Yvonne was the Senior Director of International Marketing at Bebo Inc (AOL) from 2008 to 2010, leading member acquisition strategy and viral marketing globally. Yvonne started their career at Google, where they held the position of Head of Industry Marketing, EMEA Finance Vertical from 2006 to 2008.

Yvonne's earlier experience includes roles at BrainJuicer Ltd as Director of Marketing & Operations / Board Member from 2003 to 2005, Siebel Systems as a Product Manager from 2001 to 2002, and J.P. Morgan Inc as an Associate from 1995 to 1999.

Yvonne Chien began their education by pursuing a Bachelors (Honours) degree in Applied Mathematics (Statistics) at the University of California, Berkeley, during the years 1991 to 1995. Yvonne then furthered their academic qualifications by attending Harvard Business School from 1999 to 2001, where they obtained an MBA degree.
