Kamlesh Gupta

Senior Scientist at Garuda Therapeutics

Kamlesh Gupta has over 20 years of work experience in the field of science. Kamlesh began their career in 2000 as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, where they screened natural and synthetic chemical compounds for their anticancer activity and characterized their binding with microtubule cytoskeleton. In 2006, they became a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Notre Dame, where they established and optimized cloning, expression, protein purification chromatography, fluorescent labelling, and protein-protein interaction strategies of recombinant proteins. From 2010 to 2012, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Boston Children's Hospital (Harvard Medical School). Kamlesh's project focused on investigating the role of Wnt signaling pathway in development and disease. Kamlesh then returned to the University of Notre Dame as a Senior Scientist, where they worked on two projects as the lead scientist. In 2018, they joined HelixBind, Inc. as a Senior Scientist (Assay Development). Most recently, in 2022, they joined Garuda Therapeutics as a Senior Scientist.

Kamlesh Gupta completed their High School at SK Inter College, Barhaj, Deoria (U.P.), INDIA from 1991 to 1995, studying Biological and Physical Sciences. Kamlesh then earned a Bachelor's Degree from St. Andrews College, Gorakhpur in 1998, studying Chemistry and Biology. In 2000, they obtained a Master's Degree from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University, Faizabad in Biochemistry. Finally, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 2005.
