Isabella Bailey

Isabella Bailey has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Isabella currently holds the position of Chief People Officer at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, where they have been since April 2023. Prior to this, they served as the People and Culture Manager at the same organization from November 2021. Isabella also worked as a People & Culture Science Partner from March 2020 to November 2021.

Before joining the Garvan Institute, Isabella worked at Trayport as the Head of People from April 2019 to December 2019. Isabella was responsible for shaping and delivering Trayport's People strategy, focusing on attracting and developing top talent. Prior to this, they held roles of HR Manager from May 2017 to April 2019 and HR Advisor from December 2015 to May 2017 at Trayport.

Isabella's work experience also includes a role as an HR Advisor at Stephenson Harwood LLP, an international law firm, where they managed end-to-end recruitment and provided employee relations and performance management advice. Isabella held this position from February 2015 to November 2015.

Isabella Bailey's education history begins with their completion of high school at SCEGGS Darlinghurst, from 2000 to 2005. Isabella then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Science (B.Sc.) in Psychology and a Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com.) in Human Resource Management from the University of Wollongong, from 2007 to 2011. Isabella furthered their education by completing a Master's degree in Commerce with a focus on Human Resources Management at UNSW from 2022 to 2025.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Isabella has obtained several certifications. In 2019, they became a Chartered MCIPD through CIPD, and received the Certified Practitioner Human Resources (CPHR) certification from the Australian HR Institute (AHRI). In 2020, they obtained certifications as a Standard Mental Health First Aider and a Licensed Mental Health First Aid Instructor from Mental Health First Aid Australia. Most recently, in 2022, they obtained the HBDI Certification from Herrmann Asia.
