Dimitris Mavroeidis

Dimitris Mavroeidis has had a varied career, beginning in 2002 when they served as Computing Support in the Greek Army. In 2004, they worked as a Software Engineer and Analyst at Xerox Hellas, where they designed and developed integrated custom applications for Greek financial organizations. In 2007, they worked as a Lab Demonstrator at the University of Edinburgh, and as an IVR Application Expert at Intracom IT Services. From 2010 to 2011, they were a Research Associate at the Institute for Language and Speech Processing, where they conducted research in the field of Natural Language Processing. From 2012 to 2018, they were Co-founder and CTO at Cognitive Systems Research Institute (CSRI), and from 2018 to 2020 they were a NLP Engineer and Back-end Developer at Omilia - Conversational Intelligence. Currently, they are a Senior NLP Research Engineer at NCSR "DEMOKRITOS", where they are solving financial problems using NLP/ML both with statistical and deep machine learning methods. Dimitris is also the Head of Machine Learning at Gaspardesk Inc. since 2022.

Dimitris Mavroeidis has a diverse educational background. Dimitris obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Athens University of Economics and Business in 2006. Dimitris then went on to pursue an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from The University of Edinburgh in 2007. Dimitris also holds a Diploma in Translation from the British Council in Athens, which they obtained in 1999. In addition, they have obtained several certifications from Coursera, including Deep Learning Specialization, Sequence Models, Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter Tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, and Neural Networks and Deep Learning, all of which were obtained in 2021 and 2022. Dimitris also holds a Visual Studio .NET certification from ITEC.
