Derek Grimes has a diverse work experience. Derek started their career as a Staffing Manager at Robert Half International (Accountemps) in 2011. Derek then worked as a Staff Accountant at King & Spalding LLP from 2012 to 2014. Following this, they joined UPS and held various roles including Accounting Supervisor and Senior Supervisor - Accounting and Finance Transformation, where they led cross-functional project teams and implemented process improvements. After UPS, they worked at Georgia-Pacific LLC as an Accounting Manager and later as a Senior Manager - Accounting and Analysis. In 2020, they joined Ports America as the Director - Finance and Accounting. Currently, they are the Vice President of Finance at Gateway Terminals LLC.
Derek Grimes obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of North Georgia in 2011. Derek then pursued further education at Mercer University, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Accounting and Finance in 2014. In the same year, they also completed a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) degree at Mercer University.
