Rob Welten

Rob Welten serves as Burgemeester of Gemeente Haaksbergen since April 2019 and is currently the Voorzitter of Stichting FC Twente Scoren in de Wijk. Welten holds positions on the Raad van Commissarissen for Wadinko N.V. and WBO Wonen, contributing to Bevrijdingsfestival Overijssel as Voorzitter bestuur until January 2024. As a previous Voorzitter and Präsident of EUREGIO from 2014 to January 2024, and a member of the daily management from 2011, Welten has extensive experience in governance. Educational achievements include a Mr in Nederlands recht from Open Universiteit and a Drs in History from Leiden University, complemented by various studies at Nyenrode Business University and University of Maryland. Prior roles include Burgemeester of Gemeente Borne and leadership positions in the Gemeentelijk Belastingkantoor Twente.
