M. Reza Roushan, PhD

Junior Scientist at Genecis

M. Reza Roushan, PhD has held various research positions throughout their work experience. M. Reza began their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Malaya in 2012, where they worked until 2013. In 2014, they joined Leiden Science - Universiteit Leiden as a PhD student and stayed with the company until 2018. During this time, they also served as a Postdoctoral Researcher and a Guest Researcher at Leiden University. In 2018, they transitioned to a Postdoctoral Research Associate role at Leiden University, where they remained until 2022. From 2022 to 2023, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Waterloo. Currently, they are a Junior Scientist at Genecis Bioindustries Inc.

M. Reza Roushan, PhD, obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology and Microbiology from Azad University (IAU) in 2008. M. Reza then went on to complete a Master of Biotechnology degree at the University of Malaya from 2010 to 2013.

In 2014, Roushan enrolled at Leiden University, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology. M. Reza successfully completed their PhD in 2018.

Throughout their academic journey, Roushan also obtained several additional certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. M. Reza received certifications in Effective Communication, On being a Scientist, Time Management and Self-management, Light Microscopy Intensive Course for PhD Candidates, and Communication in Science from Universiteit Leiden. Additionally, they completed an Advanced English course at the International Malaysian English Center (IMEC) and a German language course at The Cultural Attaché of the Austrian Embassy, reaching an A2/2 Level proficiency.
