Sean Ryder has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Sean is currently serving as the General Counsel at Genelux since October 2021. Prior to that, they worked as an Associate General Counsel at Mesoblast Limited from August 2019 to October 2021. From November 2011 to August 2019, they held the position of VP, Legal at Helsinn Therapeutics (U.S.), Inc. and also served as the Acting Chief Compliance Officer at Helsinn Therapeutics USA from November 2011 to March 2016.

Before joining Helsinn Therapeutics, Sean worked as the Senior Director of Legal at Glenmark Generics Inc., USA from February 2007 to October 2011. Sean was the sole US attorney responsible for all legal matters in the US and UK offices of the global Pharmaceutical company. Additionally, they have experience as a Patent Attorney at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare from April 2006 to February 2007, where they provided patent legal support to brand teams for assigned products.

Prior to that, Sean worked as an Associate at Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLP from August 2004 to February 2006, where they supported major pharmaceutical patent infringement litigations. Sean also worked as an Associate at Greenblum & Bernstein PLC from June 2000 to July 2004, where they prosecuted patent applications and drafted non-infringement and invalidity opinions for Generic Pharmaceutical Companies.

Sean started their career as a Contracts Coordinator at Genentech, Inc. in November 1999, where they drafted study and clinical agreements and managed contract renewals. Sean also has previous experience as a Lab Assistant at TIGR from 1993 to 1994.

Sean Ryder attended the University of Maryland from 1987 to 1994, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry. Sean then proceeded to the University of Maryland Baltimore from 1994 to 1996, although they did not earn a degree during this time. From 1996 to 1999, Sean attended the University of San Francisco School of Law, where they obtained a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with a focus on Law.
