Mike Sexsmith has a diverse range of work experience in the fields of clean technology, automotive, and engineering. Mike is currently the VP of Engineering at General Fusion and has been with the company since 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Director at General Fusion from 2022 to 2023. In 2017, they founded their own consulting firm called Innovation Wrangling, where they specialized in helping companies innovate physical products in the clean technology and automotive industries. From 2017 to 2022, they held various roles at Unilia (Canada) Fuel Cells, Inc., including Executive Vice President and General Manager. Mike also worked as the Director of Research and Development at Automotive Fuel Cell Cooperation Corporation (AFCC) from 2008 to 2017. Earlier in their career, they held positions at Ballard Power Systems and Ford Motor Company. Additionally, they have experience in leadership roles in organizations such as the North Vancouver District Parent Advisory Council and The Council of Parent Participation Preschools in BC. Mike was the President of the Vespa Club of Canada from 1992 to 1997.
From 1988 to 1995, Mike Sexsmith obtained a MASc degree in Engineering Physics and Materials Engineering from The University of British Columbia.
