Jamie Simon is currently a Research Fellow at Imbue, focusing on fundamental research into neural net dynamics and generalization, complementing a PhD program at the University of California, Berkeley. Jamie has held various roles, including Research Intern, where work on the theory of training dynamics for self-supervised learning was published. Other experience includes positions as a Graduate Student Researcher and Graduate Student Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a Visiting Researcher at Chalmers University of Technology, where efforts centered on improving nanofabrication methods for superconducting qubits. Additional backgrounds include an Undergraduate Research Fellowship at the National Institute of Standards and Technology and a Data Science Internship at Savi Technology. Jamie is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics at the University of California, Berkeley, expected to graduate in 2025, after completing an undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech from 2014 to 2018.
