Stephen Goldfless

Stephen Goldfless has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the biotechnology industry. Stephen is currently the Head of G:Labs Technology and Strategy at Generate Biomedicines, Inc. and previously worked as a Biotechnology Consultant. Prior to that, they held multiple positions at Bristol Myers Squibb, including Scientific Director, Associate Director, and Senior Scientist, where they focused on research and early development in immuno-oncology and cell therapy. Stephen also worked as a Senior Scientist at Celgene. Before joining Bristol Myers Squibb and Celgene, Goldfless served as a Senior Research Scientist and Scientist at Juno Therapeutics, Inc. and a Senior Scientist at AbVitro Inc., where they contributed to the invention of a technology platform for ultra-high-throughput single-cell RNA sequencing. Goldfless began their career as a PhD candidate at the Department of Biological Engineering at MIT, specializing in synthetic biology for global health. Stephen also co-founded Biotic Machines, Inc. and worked as a Technical Consultant at Flagship Ventures. Additionally, they gained research experience as a Research Associate at Metabolix, Inc. in the field of molecular biology and biochemistry.

Stephen Goldfless holds a PhD in Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they obtained between 2007 and 2013. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Biology, as well as a Master of Science in Biochemistry, both from Brandeis University, from 2002 to 2005. Stephen also studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Reed College from 2001 to 2002, although it is not specified if they obtained a degree during that time.
