Doug Boleyn

Innovation Officer at Genesis Health System

Boleyn was named Innovation Officer in August 2018, after serving as Executive Director of Outpatient Services since June 2014, and before that, Director of Outpatient Services. He also served as Manager of Outpatient Rehabilitation from 2008-2012, after joining Genesis in 2002 as Manager of Therapeutic Recreation. Before coming to Genesis, Boleyn worked as a Lead Certified Recreation Therapist at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island, Ill., and as a Certified Recreation Therapist at Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge, Iowa.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Recreational Therapy, with an emphasis in Psychology/Exercise Physiology, from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa. He earned a Master of Organizational Leadership from St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa, in 2017.

Boleyn has served as President of the Iowa Therapeutic Recreation Association and as President of the Iowa Therapeutic Recreation Association Board, of which he is a 10-year member. He also has served as Chair and Chair Elect of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA) Chapter Affiliate Council Board and is a recipient of the 2005 ATRA Certificate of Recognition for meritorious service to the profession.

Boleyn is an avid runner and enjoys spending time with his family. During his free time he is often participating, coaching or watching his kids participate in a variety activities.
