Michele Dane

Executive Director, Marketing, Communications & Business Development, Genesis Health System at Genesis Health System

Dane has been involved in strategic planning and business development efforts at Genesis since joining the organization in 1995 as a planning consultant in the Strategic Development Department, where she was responsible for Certificate of Need applications and preparation of service line business plans. She was named Manager of Strategic Planning and Business Development for the health system in 2008, supporting the CEO in development and implementation of the Genesis strategic plan. She became Director of Business Development in 2013 and added responsibility for marketing and communications when she was named to her current position in early 2018. Prior to joining Genesis, Dane was Executive Director of the Rock Island County Mental Health Board. She also has served as Director of Plan Development and Implementation for the Iowa-Illinois Health Care Alliance and as a freelance consultant. Dane has been an examiner for the Baldrige, Lincoln Foundation and Iowa Performance Excellence Programs. She also has been involved with a number of community groups, including the Center for Alcohol and Drug Services, the Scott County Regional Authority, the Scott County Family YMCA and the Davenport Noon Kiwanis Club and Scott County Master Gardeners.

Dane holds a bachelor’s degree from Grinnell College, earned a master’s in Hospital and Health Care Administration from the University of Iowa and is a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives.
