Carla Gil has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Carla currently works at Genmab as the Director and Team Lead for Clinical Trial Analytics & Visualization. Prior to this, they held positions at Novo Nordisk as a Project Data Manager and Senior Data Manager. Carla also worked at DTU Space, National Space Institute as a Data Analyst and at the European Southern Observatory as a Support Astronomer. Before entering the industry, Carla worked at the University College Dublin as a Research Associate and Teaching Assistant, where they conducted research on Diffusion Tensor Imaging and MRI analysis.
Carla Gil obtained their PhD in Physics from Université Grenoble Alpes, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science degree in Astrophysics from the Astronomy Observatory of Capodimonte & University of Porto in 2001. In the same year, they also obtained another Master of Science degree in Astrophysics from Universidade do Porto. Before pursuing their master's degrees, Carla Gil studied Physics/Applied Mathematics at Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto until 2000.
In terms of additional certifications, Carla Gil obtained a certification in "Machine Learning in Business" from MIT Sloan School of Management in June 2020. Carla also holds certifications in project management, including "Prince2 Practitioner" from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, obtained in June 2016, and "Prince2 Foundation" from the same institution.
