Coastal Earth Observation Scientist at Geoscience Australia

Robbi Bishop-Taylor started their work experience in 2008 as a Field Assistant to a Freshwater Biologist for Keith Bishop. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as a Geoarchaeological Field/Research Assistant for the Tundzha Regional Archaeological Project, conducting fieldwork and analyzing data using spatial statistical techniques. In 2012, they also worked as a Field Demonstrator for the University of New South Wales. They then joined Intersect Australia Pty Ltd in 2012 as a Software Quality Assurance Tester, where they performed various testing tasks for archaeological software. From 2014 to 2017, they pursued a Ph.D. in Geospatial Science at UNSW, focusing on modeling spatiotemporal surface water connectivity dynamics and analyzing ecological habitat networks. They also worked as a GIS and remote sensing demonstrator for UNSW in 2016. Lastly, they joined Geoscience Australia in 2018 as a Coastal Earth Observation Scientist.

Robbi Bishop-Taylor began their education in 2007 at Great Lakes College in Forster-Tuncurry, where they did not obtain a degree or study a specific field. From 2009 to 2013, Robbi attended UNSW and pursued a Bachelor of Advanced Science / Bachelor of Arts degree, focusing on Geoscience and Environmental Studies. They then furthered their education at UNSW from 2014 to 2017, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Geospatial Science.
