Simon Betton

Lead Software Engineer at GetSetUp

Simon Betton has worked in the tech industry since 2007. His first role was as a Full Stack Engineer at The Web Company, where he worked on end-to-end project delivery from planning, design, content writing/gathering, client/project management, front/back-end development and DevOps. Simon then moved to RAPP Tribal New Zealand as a Frontend Engineer, and Web Studios as a Business Partner & Engineer. In 2009, Simon became a Tutor & Speaker at YOOBEE School of Design (previously Natcoll). In 2010, Simon joined Digital Arts Network Auckland as a Full Stack Engineer, where he built the TVNZ Ondemand mobile and tablet apps with the streaming partner Brightcove. Simon then moved to Buzzdial as a Full Stack Engineer and worked on projects for live events. In 2016, Simon became Head of Technology at DDB New Zealand, where he was responsible for the systemisation of the agency and led the adoption of new technologies. Most recently, he joined General Studios as Head of Technology and GetSetUp as Lead Software Engineer.

Simon Betton attended Rosmini College from 1999 to 2005. In 2006, they attended Natcoll (National College of Design and Technology) for Web Development.
