James Whitener has extensive work experience in the field of network engineering. James most recently worked at Get Well as the Lead Network Engineer. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Network/Voice/Video at Communications & Power Industries (CPI) from 2020 to 2022. James also worked as a Consultant in Infrastructure at Internetwork Engineering from 2019 to 2020. James was a Senior Network Engineer III at NorthState Technology Solutions from 2015 to 2019, and a Senior Network Engineer at Allstate from 2014 to 2015. Before that, they served as a Network Architect at Amesbury (a subsidiary of Tyman PLC) from 2013 to 2014. James gained valuable experience as a Senior Network Engineer at General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies from 2005 to 2013. Prior to that, they worked as a Network Engineer at CSCI, where they were responsible for the architecture and implementation of local area networking infrastructure. James began their career as a Staff IT Auditor at Urbach Kahn & Werlin in 2001.
James Whitener earned an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science from Tidewater Community College between 1996 and 1998. Following that, they pursued higher education and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Virginia Tech between 1998 and 2000. Apart from their formal education, James Whitener also acquired the Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise (CCNP Enterprise) certification from Cisco in November 2023.
