Oleksii Serhiienko

Oleksii Serhiienko has a diverse work experience. Oleksii currently works at GetYourGuide as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Visionary AG from July 2019 to March 2022 as a Cloud Engineer, where they focused on moving a legacy application into an OpenStack Cloud, reducing infrastructure costs and improving stability and performance. Oleksii also built a centralized log collection and a monitoring/alarm system from scratch.

Before that, Oleksii worked at ZHAW School of Engineering as a Researcher from November 2015 to June 2019. Here, they developed and supported a billing project for clouds and worked on multi-cloud management platforms. Prior to that, they worked at Sigma Software Group as a Junior Software Developer from August 2014 to July 2015. Oleksii extended the OpenStack code-base for a customized private cloud and performed full-stack development using Django Framework and Angular.

Oleksii's work experience started with an internship at ZHAW School of Engineering from August 2013 to July 2014. During this time, they contributed to the OpenStack Ceilometer project and worked on Cloud Foundry deployment, DevOps operations, and automation.

Oleksii Serhiienko completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Ukraine 'Kyiv Polytechnic Institute' from 2010 to 2015. Oleksii further pursued their education at the ZHAW School of Engineering, where they obtained their Master's Degree in Information Technology from 2016 to 2019.
