Sean MacDonald

Sean MacDonald has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering and management. Sean currently holds the position of Senior Engineering Manager at Ghost Security since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Cisco for a significant period of time, starting as a Software Engineer in January 2013 and eventually becoming an Engineering Manager at OpenDNS. At Cisco, Sean was responsible for managing and working as part of the Data Platform Team, overseeing the data warehouse that powers Cisco Umbrella. Sean'srole involved defining the technical roadmap, ensuring high-quality solutions, and delivering reliable and scalable systems. Sean also has experience as a Software Engineer at Sophos, where they led the implementation of Hadoop and HBase for data storage in SophosLabs' automated malware detection systems. Additionally, they worked as a Programmer/Analyst at the Centre for Health Services and Policy Research, where they prepared health services utilization and population health data for research purposes and developed tools for automating data preparation.

Sean MacDonald attended McMaster University from 2000 to 2005, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Software Engineering.
