Previously, Khalid has been a contributor and member of the Trust Over IP Foundation, where they contributed to the definition of robust and common standards for digital trust. Khalid was also the Chief Operating Officer at Northern Block, where they oversaw international expansion and global operations for their self-sovereign identity platform.

Before that, Khalid co-founded Tykn B.V., an award-winning startup that developed digital identity tools for impact. As the COO, they played a key role in developing innovative technology that allowed organizations to issue tamper-proof credentials while giving users control over their personal data.

Khalid has also been involved in various initiatives related to digital trust and self-sovereign identity, such as the Good Health Pass Collaborative, Sovrin Foundation, and ZINC Foundation.

Earlier in their career, Khalid had experience in UX design and communication roles at companies like Helloprint and Kennisalliantie.

Khalid Maliki has a diverse education background. Khalid started their academic journey in 2006 at De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences, where they pursued a Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology with a specialization in Communication and Multimedia Design. Khalid successfully completed this degree in 2010.

In 2013, Khalid continued their studies at the College of MultiMedia, where they focused on 3D Production and Animation. Khalid completed this program in 2014.

Returning to De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Khalid enrolled in the IDM program, which stands for Information Services and Management. Khalid studied this field from 2006 to 2009.

In addition to their formal education, Khalid Maliki obtained a UX Certificate from the Nielsen Norman Group in May 2016.
