Castro Laicer

VP, Battery Technologies at Giner Labs

Dr. Laicer’s research focuses on novel battery technologies for next-generation energy storage applications including aerospace, defense, electric vehicles, electrified aircraft propulsion, and biomedical devices. He develops novel nanostructured and multi-functional materials and coatings for cathode and anode electrodes, as well as liquid and solid-state electrolytes for safe and reliable battery operation. His research addresses critical performance requirements for next-generation batteries including enhanced energy density, power density, cycle life, safety, and lower cost. Another major area of Castro’s research is development of rapid, point-of-care biological sensors for diagnosis of cancer and infectious diseases. Castro holds a PhD degree in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Minnesota.
