Tim Schulz

Tim Schulz has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and analysis. Tim most recently worked as a Lead Data Scientist at Eraneos - powered by Ginkgo starting in April 2023. Prior to that, they were a Senior Data Scientist at Cytora from June 2022 to January 2023, where they focused on data extraction from insurance documents and worked with technologies such as Transformers, xgboost/sklearn pipelines, and AWS SageMaker. Tim also worked as a Senior Data Scientist at CHECK24 Vergleichsportal GmbH from April 2020 to May 2022. In this role, they developed models and algorithms for data extraction from documents and worked on various technical and operational aspects of data science. Tim also helped in furthering the company-wide data science competence through collaboration with a team of senior/lead data scientists. Prior to that, Tim worked as a Data Scientist at CHECK24 Vergleichsportal GmbH from May 2018 to March 2020. Tim has previous experience as a Data Scientist and Data Analyst at Mobify, A Salesforce Company from January 2017 to April 2018, where they dealt with frontend-generated data and provided insights for marketing content. Before their career in data science, Tim worked as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at Simon Fraser University, where they taught tutorials for various Economics courses and developed code for estimating functions in survival analysis. Tim also has experience as a Service Technician at Titan Alarm LTD, where they serviced residential alarm systems.

Tim Schulz completed their education at Städtischen Gymnasiums Bad Driburg, earning an Abitur degree from 2002 to 2011. Later, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics, with Honours, from Simon Fraser University, attending from 2011 to 2015. Finally, they obtained their Master of Arts (M.A.) in Economics from Simon Fraser University in 2016.
