Iman Lalani

Iman Lalani has a diverse range of work experience. They started their career as a camp counselor at Aga Khan Foundation Canada in 2019. Later that year, they interned at Stand Up Shout Out, where they helped create a library in the slums of Kibera and assisted with a feeding initiative. In 2020, Iman worked as an English teacher for Aga Khan Education Service, adapting to challenges such as poor internet connection. Also in 2020, they served as a Residence Services Assistant at the University of Toronto Mississauga, where they developed interpersonal and customer service skills. In 2021, Iman worked as a Server Assistant at Earls Kitchen + Bar and as a Research Scholar at Laidlaw Foundation, conducting independent qualitative research on the impact of post-colonialism on sub-Saharan Africa's ability to tackle climate change. In 2022, they interned at Youth4Nature, leading the production of a toolkit on the environmental impacts of the private sector. They also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Toronto Mississauga, conducting equity, diversity, and inclusion research on Canadian university geography departments. Currently, Iman is a Partnerships Coordinator at GivingTuesday. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated skills in research, leadership, project management, customer service, and communication.

Iman Lalani began their education at the International School of Kenya from 2013 to 2017. They then attended Southbank International School from 2017 to 2019. Iman Lalani is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Toronto Mississauga, specializing in Environmental Management and Human Geography with a minor in Environmental Policy and Law. Iman has also obtained various certifications including the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Training, Basic Health and Safety Awareness Training, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Training, Indigenous Cultural Competency Training, Sexual Violence Education and Prevention (SVEP) Training, and Suicide Prevention Training (LivingWorks) from the University of Toronto Mississauga in August 2020.
