Marina Gomes Machado is a Senior Scientist in Process Development at Galapagos since August 2023. Previously, Marina served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Institut Cochin from April 2022 to June 2023, focusing on the role of FOLR2 macrophages in breast cancer under the guidance of Julie Helft, PhD. Marina's earlier experience includes a PhD Researcher role at Institut Pasteur de Lille (October 2018 - January 2022) researching the impact of acetate on pulmonary defense, and a Research Internship in flow cytometry and animal handling at the same institution in 2018. Marina completed a Master's degree in Immunology at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, where research included the Annexin A1/FPR2 pathway in inflammatory responses, and has an extensive background in immunology through various research assistant positions and internships. Educational qualifications include a PhD from Ecole Graduée Biologie Santé de Lille and a Master's degree in Clinical and Toxicological Analysis from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais.
