Nicolas Chaverou

CoFounder and Product Manager at Golaem

Nicolas Chaverou has a significant work experience in the field of computer animation and software development. Nicolas is the CoFounder and Product Manager at Golaem, where they have been responsible for the vision and development of Golaem Crowd and Golaem Layout software. These software tools are widely used by high-end studios worldwide for crowd simulation and layout in visual effects and 3D animation. Under their leadership, Golaem has been recognized with two Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards and a Technology Cesar.

Prior to Golaem, Nicolas also served as the CoFounder and R&D Software Engineer at the same company. Nicolas has a strong background in C++ and Python development and has expertise in using Maya, 3dsMax, Katana, Arnold, VRay, Redshift, and PRMan APIs.

Before their time at Golaem, Nicolas worked at INRIA as an R&D Computer Animation Engineer. Here, they focused on building a bridge between the software HPTS++ and MKM to add behaviors and environment triggers to a real-time 3D animation engine for human characters. Nicolas also participated in various technology valorization events, including SIGGRAPH 2008, Laval Virtual, and ICT 2008.

Nicolas's earlier experience includes a research internship in 3D Quadruped Animation at INRIA's Evasion Team. During this time, they extended a 3D animation engine for biped characters to quadrupeds and conducted research in the field of kinematic 3D animation.

Overall, Nicolas Chaverou has a strong track record in developing innovative software tools for crowd simulation and animation, and their contributions have been recognized by the industry.

Nicolas Chaverou has a strong educational background in computer science and applied mathematics. In 2001, they began their academic journey at the Université de Bordeaux, where they pursued a DUT (Diplôme Universitaire de Technologie) in Computing. This two-year program provided him with a solid foundation in various computing principles and techniques.

Building upon their DUT, Nicolas continued their studies at the Université de Bordeaux and completed a Master I degree in Computing from 2003 to 2005. During this period, they gained advanced knowledge and skills in the field of computing, further honing their expertise.

Seeking further specialization and research opportunities, Nicolas pursued a Research Master's degree at the prestigious National School of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics of Grenoble from 2005 to 2006. Nicolas'sfocus during this program was on Image, Vision, and Robotics.

In addition to their formal education, Nicolas Chaverou has also invested in continuous learning through various certifications. Nicolas has completed several online courses provided by Coursera, including "Convolutional Neural Networks by deeplearning.ai," "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization by deeplearning.ai," "Neural Networks and Deep Learning by deeplearning.ai," "Machine Learning by Stanford University," and "Structuring Machine Learning Projects by deeplearning.ai."

Through their education and certifications, Nicolas Chaverou has developed a strong background in computer science, machine learning, and deep learning, allowing him to apply their knowledge and skills in practical settings.
