Jill Laporte

Jill LaPorte is an experienced Senior Aquatic Ecologist and Project Manager at WSP in Canada since January 2023, and has been an Aquatic Biologist at Golder Associates since 2005. Jill's consulting work at Golder encompasses the design and execution of field programs, data collection and analysis, statistical interpretation, and report writing, with a strong focus on aquatic ecology, water and sediment chemistry, fish community health, and reproduction. Jill also contributed to education as an Environmental Sciences Teacher at Fleming College in 2013, where curriculum design and student engagement in real-world tasks were emphasized. Prior experience includes assisting in aquatic ecology research at Laurentian University from 2002 to 2004, focusing on the identification and classification of freshwater organisms. Jill holds an Environmental Certificate in Environmental Biology from Laurentian University, completed in 2004, and an OSSD from Lindsay Collegiate and Vocational Institute, achieved in 1999.
