Erica Wright

Erica Wright has a diverse range of work experience in software development, mentorship, and teaching. Erica is currently the CTO and Lead Developer at Goodable, a role they have held since January 2022. Prior to that, Erica worked as a Fellow at On Deck, where they were involved in building the infrastructure to support founders.

In 2021, Erica founded Stomping Ground, a location-based audio storytelling app, and led the development and launch of the app on Android and iOS. Erica also collaborated with the O-Positive Foundation to create a pilot program for artists to share their stories on the app.

From 2016 to 2021, Erica worked at Mozilla in various roles. As a Senior Software Developer in Privacy and Security, they led projects focused on improving user privacy, such as developing the Protections Dashboard and implementing the Cookie Purging project. Erica also worked as a UX Developer, streamlining design processes and mentoring interns. Additionally, they started their career at Mozilla as a Design Developer Intern, where they developed extensions and conducted A/B tests.

Before Mozilla, Erica was a Mentor and Lecturer at Lighthouse Labs, where they trained and mentored over 800 new developers in web development best practices. Erica received high ratings and was recognized as an effective mentor.

In 2016, Erica worked briefly at Mobify as a Jr. Developer Advocate, creating technical tutorials and delivering lectures on Adaptive.js framework. Erica also had experience as a Full-Stack Web Developer at Pintellect, where they collaborated on a social media project and utilized graph database technology.

Outside of the tech industry, Erica worked as an English Teacher at Intersect Gaigo, an English teaching organization, and as a Personal Care Assistant for a private employer. Erica also had gardening experience at Brackenrig Nursery and Maintenance.

Erica Wright began their education in 2008 at The University of British Columbia, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing. Erica attended this institution until 2013. In 2015, Erica briefly attended Lighthouse Labs, where they studied Web Development.
