Amber Porter

Amber Porter is currently the Production Office Manager at Goodman Theatre. Amber has previously worked as a Production Assistant at Writers Theatre and as a Scene Shop Assistant and Carpenter at the Des Moines Metro Opera.

Porter began their career in the theatre as a Master Carpenter at the Des Moines Metro Opera, where they worked for two summers. Amber then moved on to work as a Production Assistant at Writers Theatre, where they assisted the stage manager in rehearsal and during the run of six shows over two seasons. Some of their favorite productions from their time at Writers Theatre include BUS STOP, THE UNEASY CHAIR, ARMS & THE MAN, and THE DUCHESS OF MALFI.

In May of 2001, Porter began working as the Scene Shop Assistant at Goodman Theatre. In this role, they assisted the carpenters in the construction of scenery for three seasons. Amber also served as the driver/errand runner for the scene shop and paint shop. In May of 2004, Porter was promoted to Production Office Manager, a position they still hold today.

They are on a team with and Tyler Jacobson - Production Manager, Owen Theatre. Amber Porter reports to Scott Conn, Director of Production & Operations.
