Kai Lu

Kai Lu has extensive work experience in the field of chemistry. They started their career at Lundbeck in 2001, where they participated in multiple drug discovery projects and led early-stage projects. They also collaborated with CRO partners and contributed to the development of MCH-1 and NPY-5 antagonists. From 2008 to 2015, Kai Lu worked at ChemPartner as the Director of Chemistry, leading various med-chem and generic drug projects and establishing an ADC technology research group. At Shanghai Medicilon Inc. from 2015 to 2017, they served as the Exec. Director of Chemistry, leading multiple drug discovery projects and identifying inhibitors comparable to late-stage clinical candidates. Kai Lu then worked as the Exec. Director of Chemistry at Shanghai PharmaResources CO. from 2017 to 2018. They joined Provivi, Inc. in 2019 as the Principal Scientist, Product Chemistry, where they played a role in impurity identification, synthetic route design, and pilot synthesis. Currently, Kai Lu is the Associate Director of chemistry at Gossamer Bio, where they provide project and portfolio leadership, solve major issues, and identify chemical matters for drug development.

Kai Lu holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Nanjing University. Additionally, they have pursued further education at Clemson University and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD, although the specific field of study is not specified.
