The Role



Your mission

GotPhoto is looking for an enthusiastic Accounting & Tax Team Lead to join our Finance Team in Berlin to ensure our international operation is sustainable and compliant with local regulations.

Our business is growing and so is our team: we will have around 200 employees, distributed over 5 countries, by the end of 2024. As we grow and expand, we recognize the need for a dedicated Team Lead for our Accounting & Tax Team to join us and work with our CFO to improve and streamline our reporting capabilities. This role will act as a coach and mentor to our accounting crew, providing expert advice and guidance while being hands-on.



Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of 4 accounting professionals, providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback to ensure the team's productivity and professional growth.
• Oversee and support the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors to develop tax strategies that optimize the company's tax position while ensuring compliance with local, national, and international tax laws.
• Collaborate closely with other departments, such as finance, operations, legal, sales, and engineering to support cross-functional initiatives and resolve issues that impact financial performance or compliance.
• Lead or participate in special projects as assigned by the CFO, such as system implementations, process improvements, or strategic initiatives, leveraging accounting expertise to drive successful outcomes.

We are looking for:

• +5 years of experience in accounting for software companies
• Excellent understanding of German accounting principles (HGB)
• Excellent understanding of German tax law (KSt, GewSt, USt)
• Fluency in German
• Experience with US accounting principles (US-Gaap) is a big plus
• Leadership experience is a plus
