Curtis Tom

Curtis Tom has diverse work experience in the field of research and scientific study. Curtis began their career as an undergraduate student researcher at UC Santa Cruz in 2007 and later joined UC Davis as a Graduate Student Researcher from 2008 to 2010. At UC Davis, Curtis focused on studying the Twin Arginine Translocation (TAT) protein transport pathway, recombinant protein expression and purification, and protein and enzyme function and activity. Following their time at UC Davis, Curtis worked as a research intern at UCSF from 2013 to 2015. At UCSF, they gained further research experience in an intern role. In 2015, Curtis joined Illumina as a Research Associate, gaining valuable experience in the company. Curtis then transitioned to GRAIL in 2016, where they held multiple positions. Curtis started as a Research Associate 2 from 2016 to 2018, and then served as a Senior Research Associate from 2018 to 2021. From 2021 to 2023, Curtis held the position of Associate Scientist. Currently, Curtis is a Research Scientist 2 at GRAIL.

Curtis Tom began their education in 2004 at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2008. In 2012, they attended the City College of San Francisco and earned three certificates in Stem Cell Technology, Biotechnology, and Biomanufacturing, all completed by 2013. Additionally, they pursued further education at the University of California, Davis from 2008 to 2010, although the degree obtained during this period is not specified.
