Jeff Ubersax has a diverse work experience that spans over several companies and roles. Jeff is currently serving as the Vice President of Bioinformatics and Data Science at GRAIL since March 2023. Prior to their current position, Jeff held the roles of CEO & CSTO and Chief Science and Technology Officer at Demetrix from September 2017 to March 2023.

Before joining Demetrix, Jeff worked at Amyris for a significant period, starting as a Scientist 2 in March 2008 and progressing through various roles including Scientist 3, Associate Director of High Throughput Screening, Director of Biology, Senior Director of Biology, and eventually Vice President of Research and Development from August 2014 to September 2017.

Jeff's earlier experience includes working as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University School of Medicine from September 2004 to March 2008, and as a Graduate Student at the University of California San Francisco from August 1997 to August 2004, where they researched the function of Cdk1 (Cdc28) in S.

Jeff Ubersax attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1993 to 1997, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a Biochemistry track. Jeff then pursued further education at the University of California, San Francisco from 1997 to 2004, obtaining a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Following this, they attended Stanford University School of Medicine from 2004 to 2008, although the degree obtained and field of study during this period is unspecified.
