John Abran

John Abran has a diverse work experience in the field of pathology and medical direction. John is currently working as a Senior Medical Director at GRAIL since May 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Director in Urologic Pathology and Development Pathology at both Genomic Health and Exact Sciences from July 2018 to May 2022.

Before joining these companies, they served as a Director at the Illinois Society of Pathologists from January 2013 to July 2018. From September 2012 to July 2018, they worked as a Pathologist at DuPage Medical Group.

Mr. Abran also held significant leadership roles at The Chicago Pathology Society, where they served as the Chair of the Board of Directors from May 2011 to July 2018 and as the President from May 2009 to May 2011.

John has previously worked as an Associate Medical Director at 4path Pathology Services and as the Medical Director of Laboratories at Advanced Urology Associates from September 2009 to July 2018.

Prior to these positions, they worked as a Physician at Consultants in Pathology, SC from July 2000 to August 2009. Overall, John Abran has a wealth of experience in pathology and medical direction, with a focus on urologic pathology and development pathology.

John Abran completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Northwestern University. John attended Northwestern University from 1986 to 1990. Following this, they pursued a Medical Degree (MD) from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, where they studied Medicine from 1990 to 1994.
