Mai Tran Mpa

Mai Tran, MPA has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of clinical research and program management. Mai has held various roles in different organizations, starting with their position as a Research Assistant/Interviewer for the California Dept. of Health Services in 2005. Mai then worked as a Management Analyst/Contractor for the Santa Clara County Public Health Department, where they assisted in the planning and implementation of mass medical emergencies response.

In 2007, Mai joined Kaiser Permanente as a Clinical Research Associate, coordinating research trials in oncology. Mai later moved on to Stanford University, where they worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Division of Hematology, managing clinical trials and ensuring compliance with research protocols and regulations.

Mai's experience also includes roles at the Cancer Prevention Institute of California, where they served as a Program Manager, overseeing intervention studies and promoting health research partnerships in Asian communities. Mai was also a Board member on the Board of Directors for VIA - Volunteers in Asia, an organization fostering cross-cultural understanding.

At UCSF, Mai held the role of Manager, Research Personnel, Clinical Operations, where they led a large team and operationalized multiple clinical trials across different departments. Mai collaborated closely with department Chairs and principal investigators.

Prior to their current position at GRAIL, Inc., where they serve as the Associate Director of Clinical Development, Population Health Sciences/RWE, Mai worked at Rigel Pharmaceuticals Inc. as a Clinical Program Manager, and at NeuroVia, Inc. as a Clinical Operations Lead.

Throughout their career, Mai has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams. Mai has also been involved in various research programs and initiatives, particularly in the field of cancer prevention and early detection.

Mai Tran, MPA, has a Masters degree in Public Administration from San Jose State University. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelors degree in Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
