Matthew Margolis

Matthew Margolis has a diverse work experience in the field of healthcare and research. Matthew is currently working as a Staff Clinical Scientist at GRAIL since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Foundation Medicine where they held several roles including Scientist I and Clinical Bioinformatics Analyst. Matthew started at Foundation Medicine as a Clinical Bioinformatics Analyst I in 2018 and eventually became a Scientist I in 2020. Matthew also briefly worked as a Clinical Bioinformatics Analyst II during this time.

Before their tenure at Foundation Medicine, Matthew worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a Research Study Specialist and Research Study Assistant. In these roles, they participated and coordinated various research projects, provided support to research initiatives, and collected patient information for multiple research projects and clinical trials.

Matthew also gained industry experience as a Gastrointestinal Global Medical Franchise Intern at Pfizer. In this role, they provided scientific support, designed clinical research, and reviewed marketing strategies for medical accuracy.

Additionally, Matthew has experience working as a Hospitalist Scribe at Suburban Hospital, where they managed clinical patient information on behalf of attending physicians, documented medical histories, and gained knowledge of medical terminology.

Furthermore, Matthew has interned at USDA - ARS, where they researched immunological effects of Vitamin A on pig intestinal epithelial cells. Matthew also interned at Hackensack University Medical Center, where they participated as a Research Associates Program Volunteer.

Prior to their internships, Matthew worked as an Intern at Holy Name Medical Center, shadowing a Plastic Surgeon, and as an Anesthesia Research Volunteer at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, where they collected data and assisted with research projects.

Matthew also had a brief internship at Sandvik.

Matthew Margolis obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Neurobiology and Physiology from the University of Maryland, completing their studies in 2014. Matthew then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Bioinformatics at Johns Hopkins University Advanced Academic Programs, where they studied from 2017 to 2020. Prior to their collegiate education, Matthew attended Pascack Valley High School, although specific dates and degrees earned during that time are not provided. In addition to their formal education, Matthew Margolis also obtained certifications in Business Process Improvement, Dealing with the Seven Deadly Wastes, and Using Questions to Foster Critical Thinking and Curiosity from LinkedIn in June 2021.
