Julie Deighton has extensive experience in communications and PR roles. Julie began their career as a Marketing Officer at North Lincolnshire Council, where they were responsible for marketing leisure facilities and coordinating communications. Julie then moved on to work as a PR Manager at Better Homes LLC, where they handled all PR, internal communications, and events for the company.
Julie then transitioned to the hotel industry, working as the Director of PR & Communication for the Middle East region at Rezidor Hotel Group. Julie was responsible for developing and executing communication strategies, establishing media relations, and increasing brand awareness.
Julie later joined Radisson Hotel Group as the Area Director of PR & Communication for the UK, Ireland, and Western Europe markets. In this role, they oversaw the PR and communication strategy for the group, its brands, and over 70 hotels.
Currently, Julie is the Director of Communications at Grainger PLC, a leading property business. Julie handles all aspects of communication, including internal communications, corporate communications, crisis communications, PR, media relations, and events. Julie is responsible for developing strategies to support business growth, reputation management, customer loyalty, and employee and investor engagement.
Julie Deighton obtained their Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Retail Marketing from The Business School, Manchester Metropolitan University, from 1997 to 2001. In 2017, they received a Crisis Communication Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Julie obtained additional certification in the form of the CIPR Crisis Communication Diploma from the same institution in October 2017.
