Overview:
GQR has an opening for a paid internship focusing on progressive political issues in the US and beyond. As internship needs change throughout the year, GQR follows a rolling application process. We are currently screening candidates who are able to join us at our Washington, D.C. home office. Please note that this is an in-office position, 5 days a week. Preference will be given to candidates able to work through either the end of election cycle, or end of calendar year.
Responsibilities:
GQR is seeking a full-time intern with excellent research, communication and organizational skills. Interns will be responsible for, among other tasks:
Supporting our team’s work providing strategic quantitative and qualitative research for progressive political, corporate, and organizational clients
Conducting background research
Copy editing and proofing data in memos and presentations
Keeping the team up to date on political candidates and elections
Testing survey programming and monitoring survey dialing
Light administrative duties
Opportunities:
Interns gain an inside perspective on public opinion polling: learning what it is, how it works, and how it's used in political and advocacy campaigns. Interns learn to work as part of a team in a fast-paced office setting while developing communication skills and a keen attention to detail. An internship at GQR gives interns exposure to a range of campaigns, career possibilities, and networking opportunities within the political consulting and market research industries.
Past office experience and proven ability to multi-task
Familiarity with MS Office; additional technical skills preferred
Sharp eye for detail and strong copy editing skills
Interest in progressive public opinion research/campaign management
