K. Malaika Walton, CAE has a long and varied work experience, beginning in 1990 with the U.S. Department of State as a Foreign Affairs Officer and Political Officer. K. Malaika then served in various positions with the US Department of State Foreign Service in Washington DC, Madagascar, Pakistan, Ethiopia, and Ethiopia, monitoring political and economic affairs for various countries. In 2014, they became a Senior Officer, Programs & Partnerships US for Cuso International, coordinating a $1M public-private initiative between Cuso International, USAID and Accenture. From 2015 to 2019, they worked at the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) as an Associate Director of Governance and Senior Program Manager, Education. During this time, they administered SNMMI's Grants and Awards Program, a portfolio valued at $250K with 100+ individual annual recipients, and coordinated 150+ educational sessions for SNMMI’s Mid-Winter and Annual Meetings. In 2019, they joined By the People Productions as an Associate Director, designing, planning and executing a $3M civic engagement event. In 2021, they became an Account Executive and Senior Associate at Association Management Strategies, Inc., and a Membership and Programs Director at Life Insurance Settlement Association and GridWise Alliance. In 2022, they became the Director of Operations at BAHP- Center for Baby and Adult Hygiene Products.

K. Malaika Walton, CAE obtained their Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs, WWS from Princeton University in 1987. K. Malaika then went on to get their Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley in 1990. In 2002, they earned their Master of Arts in International Service from American University. In January 2022, they obtained their Certified Association Executive (CAE) from ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership.
