Senior Software Engineer, Growth

Job description

About us:

Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $178mm of funding from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, and others.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Senior Software Engineer at Grow Therapy, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our mission to improve access to high-quality mental healthcare. You will leverage your deep expertise in software engineering and SEO best practices to optimize our provider-client matching capabilities and online visibility. Your work will directly enable therapists to grow their practice and help clients find the ideal therapist for their needs.

In your day to day work, you will:

  • Implement SEO best practices to ensure Grow Therapy's search result pages (SRPs) are optimized for discoverability and conversion.
  • Develop and optimize features that support deeper contextual relevance, linking, navigation, and proximate features for high search ranking.
  • Work on infrastructure to support fast, scalable queries over a large and growing index of providers.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to define requirements and ensure features align with user needs and company goals.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.

Suggestions:

This section should give a summary of the main tasks that an employee will be responsible for. Consider: what is the purpose of this role? What problem will this role solve? Why is there a need for this position currently?

  • Limit this section to 3-5 bullet points. A list that is too long is overwhelming and data shows that longer job posts tend to attract less candidates. The shorter, the better!
  • Give explicit performance goals. Spelling out specific results expected of the role gives clarity.
  • Use recognized terminology and avoid exclusive wording (i.e. words that only an internal employee might recognize). Feel free to include specific software or tools an employee will use in this role (or any other keywords that a prospective candidate might use to search for open positions). Consider your audience (e.g. healthcare professionals).
  • Use direct and positive language! For example, replace “can” or “possibly” with “will”.
  • Make it personal, but avoid personal pronouns. Use “you” or “yours” instead of “a candidate’s” or “he/she/they/etc.”
  • Proofread, proofread, proofread! Your recruiter will do this as well, but make sure to avoid any typos, language/grammatical errors, or punctuation mistakes as this can be off-putting to a candidate.

You’ll Be a Good Fit If You Have:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Deep knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and system design.
  • Strong experience with SEO concepts and best practices for SRPs, canonicalization, sitemaps, structured data, and more.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, C++)
    • Proficiency in Python and Typescript preferred.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design
  • Excellent problem solving, debugging and optimization skills.
  • Passionate about using technology to solve real user problems.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Exceptional collaborator with strong communication skills.

If you don’t meet every single requirement, but are still interested in the job, please apply. Nobody checks every box, and Grow believes the perfect candidate is more than just a resume.
