Kate Hofman

Kate Hofman is the Founder and Brand Director at GrowUp Farms. Prior to GrowUp Farms, Kate was a Co-Founder at Arboreal from July 2011 to October 2012. Arboreal's business concept is to set up self-contained mechanical processing centres to allow cooperatives in tropical forests to process NTFPs (Non Timber Forest Products). The processing centre contains the machinery to create a higher value product from a raw NTFP as well as storage and packaging facilities. Arboreal provided the necessary initial investment as well as training, coaching and networking services for the cooperative to run an effective business and have access to distribution channels for their final product. By creating small-scale local industry, Arboreal helped communities move up the value chain, and had a positive social, economic and environmental impact.

Prior to Arboreal, Kate was an Organisational Change Consultant at IBM from July 2007 to January 2013. Before IBM, Kate was a Ski Instructor at Intrawest Resorts from November 2003 to April 2004.

Kate Hofman studied Environmental Technology at Imperial College London, before completing a BA Hons in Education and English Literature at the University of Durham. Kate then went on to study at North London Collegiate School and Brooklands.
