Joel Jacobson

Joel Jacobson, MSc, MBA has a diverse work experience in the field of hydrogeology, spanning over several companies and research institutes. Joel is currently working as the Principal Hydrogeologist at GSI Environmental Inc. since 2024. Prior to this, Joel held several roles at NewFields, including President of NewFields Mining and Energy Services from 2017 to 2023, Associate Hydrogeologist in 2016, Project Hydrogeologist from 2015 to 2016, and Staff Hydrogeologist II from 2012 to 2014. Before joining NewFields, they worked at AMEC as a Staff Hydrogeologist I from 2010 to 2012. Joel also gained valuable research experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and Desert Research Institute from 2008 to 2010.

Joel Jacobson, MSc, MBA completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Geological Engineering from Montana Tech of the University of Montana in 2008. Joel then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Hydrogeology from the University of Nevada-Reno from 2008 to 2010. Finally, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The University of Montana in 2016.
