Julie Sharbutt is a multifaceted writer, performer, and director with extensive experience in film, theater, and freelance writing. Currently serving as a Co-Screenwriter at Tribeca Festival, Julie co-wrote the short comedy film CUPIDS, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2021 and has been showcased in various other festivals. Julie also directed and wrote the short horror film 3 DAYS, which has screened in over 30 international festivals and won Best Screenplay at Atlanta Shorts. As a freelance writer, Julie has contributed to The New Yorker and McSweeney's. Additionally, Julie has performed and written for the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and worked as a staff writer for Tinder's SWIPE NIGHT: SEASON TWO. A former fellow of Time Warner Inc.'s OneFifty New Storytellers Initiative, Julie developed original episodic works and previously directed the feature film MOVED, a dark comedy available on multiple platforms. Julie holds a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from New York University and a Bachelor's degree in English and Theater from Vanderbilt University.
