Michalis Mavrommatis

Michalis Mavrommatis has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Michalis is currently the Head of SW Engineering at Hack The Box since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked at OpenBet as a Development Manager from September to October 2021. Before that, they were with SG - Digital where they held the positions of Digital Portal Governance from October 2018 to September 2021 and Deputy Development Manager from October 2017 to October 2018.

Michalis also has experience at OpenBet as a Development Lead from March 2015 to October 2017, where they were responsible for building high-quality betting software and managing small and medium team sizes. Michalis has expertise in front-end technologies and adopting Agile methodologies.

Earlier in their career, Michalis worked at Wedia as a Technical Project Manager from July 2014 to February 2015, Technical Manager from January 2013 to July 2014, and Technical Leader from March 2010 to January 2013. Michalis was responsible for leading web solutions and managing teams for various industry clients.

Prior to Wedia, Michalis worked at Accepted Ltd as a Technical Leader - Senior SW Engineer, where they led a small team and worked on Drupal development projects. Michalis also gained experience as an Oracle Software Engineer and Team Leader at Eurobank EFG, where they built the Loan Applications Reporting System using EMCs products and Oracle.

At Otenet Telecommunications Ltd., Michalis worked as a Software Engineer, developing websites in Microsoft Technologies and handling project analysis and requirements capturing. Michalis also worked briefly as an Application Engineer at Micrelec Electronics.

Michalis Mavrommatis began their career as an MSIN Member at Athens Information Technology. With a diverse background in software engineering, technical leadership, and project management, Michalis has built a strong foundation in the industry.

Michalis Mavrommatis completed their education history as follows:

From 1997 to 2003, they attended the University of Patras, where they obtained a Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

In 2003, they engaged in project work with the support of the Erasmus program at École Nationale Supérieure d'Électronique, Informatique et Radiocommunications de Bordeaux.

From 2003 to 2005, they pursued a Master of Science degree in INI (Information Networking Institute) at Carnegie Mellon University.

Subsequently, from 2005 to 2007, they attended Ethniko Metsovio Polytechnico, where they achieved a Master of Science degree in Techno-economics with a focus on M.B.A.

In terms of additional certifications, Michalis Mavrommatis obtained the Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certification from Scrum.org in July 2015.

In November 2017, they obtained the SAFe® 4 Certified Agilist certification from Scaled Agile, Inc.
