David S. Perlin

David S. Perlin is the SVP and Chief Scientific Officer at Hackensack Meridian Health. David was previously the Executive Director at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School from December 2006 to December 2018, where they also served as Director of the Rutgers Regional Biocontainment Laboratory (RBL) and helped establish PHRI as a leading organization for infectious diseases. Under their leadership, PHRI attracted over $200 million in research funds and produced more than $80 million in licensing income from over 200 patents. Dr. Perlin is a Professor of Microbiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, and has dedicated their career to pathogen research. David has helped make significant advances in the field of infectious diseases, and their work has had a global impact.

David S. Perlin's educational career includes being a Senior Research Associate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, a Postdoctoral in Biochemistry and Physiology at Yale University School of Medicine, and a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Plant Sciences at Cornell University.
